Day 1 Budapest
Built on the banks of the Danube River, this beautiful city is best seen from the water. Admire the city's architecture, and take in the lights from the iconic Chain Bridge.
Days 2-3 Novi Sad
Home to a rich history, elegant architecture and scenic natural beauty, Novi Sad's sights have universal appeal. Originally established by the Romans, the hilltop Petrovaradin Fortress offers beautiful views of the city.
Days 4-5 Belgrade
One of Europe's oldest cities, Belgrade is a curious mix of modernity and tradition. Observe how the Orthodox churches jostle for space with up-and-coming nightclubs in this vibrant city.
Days 6-8 Sarajevo and Mostar
Travel through serene countryside to the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The streets of this rejuvenated city invite a stroll. A day trip to Mostar affords an opportunity to see the famous town and bridge, both reduced to rubble during the Yugoslav wars. Since rebuilt, the town is an important symbol of the new Balkans.
Day 9 Ostrog Monastery
Take the pilgrims' path to the stunning Ostrog Monastery and stay the night in a simple konak.
Days 10-11 Budva
The Montenegrin Miami is known for its pristine coastline and vibrant nightlife. Hit the beach this afternoon to soak up some sun.
Day 12 Kotor
Hop aboard a boat bound for World Heritage-listed Kotor, a perfectly-preserved medieval town with charming crooked alleyways to explore.
Days 13-14 Dubrovnik
Walk along the city walls for panoramas of the Adriatic Sea, or climb Mt Srd for an aerial perspective.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.
Every day, hundreds of happy people return from Intrepid trips, and their comments are here for you to read. We do not screen the feedback on this site, all comments are posted here as they were written (unless they used inappropriate language).
