Day 1 Livingstone/ Victoria Falls
Visit the mighty Victoria Falls and relax by the river in Livingstone.
Day 2 -3 Chobe National Park
An early morning game drive through the Chobe National Park gives a good look at elephants, lions and other icons of the African savannah.
Days 4-6 Okavango Delta
Catch a glimpse of enormous Nile crocodiles or gangly giraffes while gliding along the waters of the Okavango Delta. Camp on a remote island surrounded by giant lily pads.
Days 7 Ghanzi
Take a walk with Ghanzi bushmen, who speak in their own language of clicks - an amazing tribal experience.
Day 8 Windhoek
Get a taste of Germany in one of many taverns in Namibia's capital.
Days 9-10 Etosha National Park
Go on safari in the Etosha National Park, staying up late to spot nocturnal wildlife around the reserve's many waterholes.
Day 11 Sptizkoppe
Continue on to eerie Damaraland to bush camp near dramatic rock formations and inspect ancient bushman paintings.
Days 12-13 Swakopmund
Travel to Cape Cross to watch thousands of seals caper along the coastline. In the oasis town of Swakopmund try optional dune bashing or sand boarding before kicking back in a lively bar.
Days 14-15 Sessriem
Watch sunrise atop a huge dune overlooking the coppery sands of the world's oldest desert.
Day 16 Fish River Canyon
This incredible gorge offers remarkable photo opportunities, especially around Hell's Bend, a sharp turn in the river that cuts a swathe through the rock.
Days 17-18 Orange River/ Western Cape
Seamed by rugged mountains and rolling dunes, the scenic banks of Orange River are in the citrus area of the Western Cape.
Day 19 Cape Town
With an imposing cloud-covered mountain as a backdrop, Cape Town is one of the world's most beautiful cities and the perfect place to end this journey - but not before experiencing township life on a tour.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
For other safety updates, please see our general safety updates page.

Tour was great and operated by Acacia Africa.
Good value for money and the tour leader and driver excellent. Schedule and activities excellent. Some days on truck were too long.
Ability to upgrade out of tents wasn't realised until Malawi.
Mix of travelling group ok, but improved in Livingston after 10 got off and a new 10 people joined for last 3 weeks to Cape Town.
In all my wife and I would travel in Africa again this way but probably not as long taking into consideration tent life.
We have travelled with Intrepid in Vietnam and Thailand

Although I booked through Intrepid, I was suprised to find the trip was actually run by "Acacia Africa." This meant the itinerary and included/optional activities was slightly different to what I was expecting.
Melissa Page
Good trip but the people in the upper age category who were on this trip all thought we were very much kept in a bubble travelling from one campsite to another with little chance to integrate with the local community - I think we all suggested homestays as a welcome addition to this trip on our written feedback. More opportunities to walk would be welcome also. Local payments are fine if you have just travelled from your home country but a nightmare if you are not - there must be some alternative to this for people in this situation. I had to work

the trip i went on was fantastic. the friends i made in the acacia family will hopefully stay with me a lifetime. i have seen so many things and had so much fun. i wish i could go back and do it all over again!
