After your wonderful South African adventure how about something completely different -head off to Madagascar! (YSY)
Days 1-3 Johannesburg/ Livingstone
Swap the bright lights of the City of Gold for the shimmering serenity of Botswana's remote Makgadikgadi Pans, a favoured haunt of hoofed animals. In adrenaline-packed Livingstone, perhaps admire the scenery clipped to a carabiner, swinging out over a gorge. A visit to the nearby Victoria Falls is a must and a relaxing cruise along the Zambezi is a great way to see a magnificent African sunset.
Day 4 Chobe National Park
Game drives through the Chobe National Park are a treat for the eyes: with one of the highest concentrations of wildlife left on the continent, there's plenty of opportunity to encounter lions, leopards, zebras and more. The enormous elephant population here also means that families of tuskers are often seen. Take it all in while cruising on the Chobe River.
Days 5-8 Okavango Delta
Spreading like a fan over 1.6 million ha, the Okavango Delta is a paradise for all kinds of unusual wildlife and prolific birdlife. The fan-like network of waterways forms a unique inland delta. Experience the watery wilderness while being poled along in a traditional hand-hewn canoe and embark on walking safaris to see animals such as hippos and antelopes up close. Be serenaded to sleep at night by the musical chirping of frogs.
Days 9-10 Khama Rhino Sanctuary/ Johannnesburg
Travel to the fringes of the Kalahari desert today and make a stop at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. This community-run wildlife project pledges to protect the last of Botswana's white rhinos and provides also a final chance to view animals in the wild.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.

Every day, hundreds of happy people return from Intrepid trips, and their comments are here for you to read. We do not screen the feedback on this site, all comments are posted here as they were written (unless they used inappropriate language).
The feedback will be marred by the overclouding issue of being in a car accident and a numbe rof our party unable to continue (and a couple seriously hospitalised). Our tour leader changed after the accident. Most of the feedback will be based on the continued tour, but may at times refer to the accident.

Great holiday and company but unlucky with the weather and vehicles kept breaking down!

Fantastic trip - the best way to explore the region, in a small group and with a knowledgeable guide.
Peter Bason
Good overall trip. Pretty much as described. Sub contracted to Acacia with a good leader who handled changes well.
