Multi-active tours

For some of us, it’s just not a vacation without some heart pumping adventures in the mix

Our multi-active trips are pulse-racing adventures for those who like their travel with a dash of adrenaline. Because who wouldn’t rather take a zip-line instead of a taxi? You'll still have plenty of opportunities to dive into local culture, but the outdoor thrills on these trips crank the excitement up a notch. Think flying past Sri Lanka’s Golden Valley of Ceylon on two wheels, hiking the red rock ravines of Morocco’s Todra Gorge or rafting past ancient Inca ruins in Peru's Sacred Valley. Ready to see some of the world’s most beautiful places from a different perspective?

Highlights

People hiking in the Pyrenees mountains
Hike in the pristine Pyrenees

For a tiny country, Andorra offers a serious bounty of summer fun. Hike through forested slopes – keeping an eye out for wildflowers and fruits – before climbing a zigzag path to Cabana Sorda Lake which sits below an impressive semi-circular amphitheater of rock. If the weather allows (and you’re feeling brave), plunge into water for a caffeine-free energy boost before descending through meadows and woodlands to the valley floor.

Trek to a village homestay in Ta Van

The lush highlands of north Vietnam have more up their sleeve than just picturesque landscapes. Take in the dramatic scenery of rural Vietnam while getting an insight into everyday life; it’s a world that feels a million miles away from the hustle of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Pass terraced farms ripe with corn and rice, wave at friendly villagers and enjoy a well-earned rest and home-cooked dinner with a local family.

Travellers in High Atlas Mountains
Hike Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains

Hiking through the High Atlas Mountains is a world away from the fanfare of Marrakech’s Djemaa el-Fna, and yet full of surprises. After a challenging but rewarding cycle, jump off the wheels to hike around the dramatically located village of Aroumd, where you’ll pass walnut and apple groves, local houses and farms. You’ll be hungry after, which is perfect timing to feast on a traditional dinner with your homestay hosts.

Morocco: Hike, Bike & Kayak
The Inca Trail and Machu Picchu
Follow in the footsteps of the Incas

The Inca Trail is the Pachamama of all hikes in Peru. But there’s more than one way to get to Machu Picchu. Purists can tackle the classic Inca Trail through Ollantaytambo, Huillca Raccay and Llactapata before reaching the sun gate of Machu Picchu. Or trek the less-trafficked Quarry Trail – a quieter route rich in local experiences – before giving your legs a much-deserved rest on the train to the Lost City of the Incas.

The people who make our trips great

Intrepid leader, Tri Nguyen
Tri, Vietnam

"For me, traveling is all about the journey. There’s no better way to experience the beauty of Vietnam than by paddling through Cat Ba’s secluded lagoons on a kayak, trekking through Sapa and staying with a local family, or cycling through lush valleys from Mai Chau to Ninh Binh."

Intrepid leader Giovanni explains safety instructions with the Amalfi Coast in the background
Giovanni, Italy

"Office views don’t get better than the Path of the Gods. I've been leading hikes along the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Peninsula for over 12 years – and it never gets old. There’s something new to experience on every trip, whether it’s sharing cultures with travelers from around the world or seeing the joy on their faces as we kayak to a hidden beach."

Intrepid leader, Imalay
Imalay, Costa Rica

"Nothing beats the feeling of spotting sloths and hummingbirds in Monteverde Cloud Forest, getting the adrenaline pumping as we raft the rapids of the Pacuare River or paddleboarding with a backdrop of Arenal Volcano. Being active while surrounded by Mother Nature is the best way to see the world."
