If your experience of Chinese cuisine stops at a double order of fried rice and a side of sweet ‘n’ sour pork, you’re not alone.
In fact, when you travel through China, it quickly becomes apparent that there’s no such thing as ‘Chinese food’. Oh there’s Cantonese, Sichuan, Shandong, Fujian, Hunan and Anhui food, but nothing wholly Chinese. The country’s cuisine is just too regional and complex for one, all-consuming ‘Made in China’ label. Unfortunately most people will never get to taste the fiery hot-pots of Chengdu, or proper imperial Peking Duck in the back alleys of Beijing (trust us, you’ve never tasted it like this before). But they can, on our Real Food Adventure – China.
Here’s a little video we put together from the tour. A taste test, as it were. Loosen you belt, grab some chopsticks and tuck in.
Want to taste the real China? Come with us on a bona fide Real Food Adventure, from Beijing and Shanghai to Chengdu and Emei Shan.
