7 new trips and experiences for 18 to 35s

written by Sahar Aman December 3, 2024

From street art in Spain to heritage homestays in India, these new trips and experiences for 2025 are all about those moments you’ll remember years from now.

Especially if you’re the kind of traveller who believes it doesn’t matter where you go, as long as you’re in good company and bringing that main character energy.

So, whether you’re visiting buffalo ranches in the Canadian Rockies, hiking to the top of a human-made mountain in Copenhagen or rickshawing through Rajasthan – these new trips and experiences for 2025 are a chapter worth writing. After all, it’s not just about the places you see, but the stories you collect along the way.

1. See nature and street art in Spain and Portugal

Spend 11 days travelling from Lisbon to Barcelona on the new Essential Spain and Portugal trip. What makes this adventure stand out is that it takes you from wild natural landscapes one minute to cultural powerhouse cities the next. Get your adrenaline pumping on the Los Cahorros trail near Granada, where bridges sway over rushing rivers. Then slow it down with a street art tour in a lesser-known neighbourhood of Madrid, taking you beyond the galleries and into the city’s creative heart.

2. Ride waves and roam the coast in Australia

You might be waiting to visit the wonderful land of Oz until you have more time, but with this 17-day trip, you can just do the damn thing. Real Australia is two new Intrepid adventures rolled into one (Sydney to Brisbane and Brisbane to Cairns). As you flit between lively cities and sunbaked coastlines, you’ll go stand-up paddleboarding with the Gumbaynggirr community in Coffs Harbour (known for its gorgeous beaches) and spend two days sailing around Whitsundays.

3. Climb rooftops and sail islands in Scandinavia

Breathe in that fresh Nordic air on Essential Scandinavia – a new trip to three new destinations in the 18 to 35s range: Denmark, Finland and Sweden. Every stop has experiences new to Intrepid, throwing you straight into the action from the get-go. Highlights include a hike to Copenhagen’s Copenhill – an artificial ski slope on the roof of an energy plant that turns trash into heat and power – and a ferry to car-free Donso Island in Sweden for woodland trails and secluded beaches.

4. Discover Rajasthan through the eyes of the locals

You could go to India more than once and still never feel satisfied, but these new hands-on experiences on the Real Rajasthan trip will leave you feeling like you’ve filled your cup. In the desert town of Bikaner, a local family will teach you how to make authentic chai (not the commercial latte version) and then you’ll cook food together. You’ll also experience India’s famous hospitality with a heritage homestay in Khinwara. This trip offers a genuine taste of traditions that will stay with you long after you return home.

5. Explore hidden beaches and sail Albania’s coast

Say hello to the Southern Balkans on this nine-day adventure packed with medieval towns, coastlines that wow, and Greek island vibes. From Dubrovnik to Corfu, you’ll visit historic forts, lounge on beaches and enjoy a local coffee ritual in Gjirokaster. There’s a new highlight for 2025: a boat tour along the Albanian Riviera in Himare, a first-time destination for Intrepid. With unspoiled beaches, clear waters and local charm, this spot is prime for your next sun-soaked escape.

6. Feast like a local in Central Europe

Begin in Berlin and wrap up in Venice on this 15-day, seven-country trip steeped in history, architecture, art and food. From Prague’s terracotta rooftops to Lake Bled’s scenery, this is the Central Europe you might have heard about. There’s a visit to a milk bar in Krakow, a new activity for 2025. Milk bars made popular in World War II serve up authentic Polish home-cooked meals in a lively atmosphere. Dining here means no English menus and shared tables. Few tourists venture here without insider tips.

7. Hit the trails in the Canadian Rockies

This Real Canadian Rockies adventure combines epic hikes, glacier views and wildlife spotting with plenty of maple-flavoured treats and opportunities to stargaze. There’s an exciting new addition to this trip: a buffalo ranch tour. You’ll have the chance to learn more about these animals while watching them roam pastures against the backdrop of rugged mountain scenery.

Marrakech is synonymous with sensory overload. But if you slow down and tune in to the everyday rhythm of local life – often found in the souks of the labyrinthine medina and the city’s vibrant main square – a distinctly Moroccan beat emerges.
