Grab your sunglasses, sunscreen and bathing suit because in 2025, Intrepid is taking you to some of the coolest beaches and islands around the world.

Think Intrepid trips are too adventurous to include a little seaside lazing? Beach, please.

On these new trips and experiences for 2025, you’ll sail pristine waters, hike through forests and swim to reach some of the world’s most wow-worthy beaches. From the black sands of Disko Island in Greenland to secluded coves in Turkey and Albania, these are the best new adventures for beach lovers and island hoppers.

1. Swim in the caves of the Southern Balkans

Medieval history and beaches come together seamlessly in the Southern Balkans. Make your way from Croatia to Albania and then to Greece, stopping in colourful coastal towns and exploring unspoiled beaches and historic ruins. When you get to Himare, Albania, a new stop on the Essential Southern Balkans trip for 18 to 35s, you’ll head out on a speed boat and explore caves along the coast, some of which are only accessible by boat. At Gjipe Canyon, cool off from the heat and stop for swims in the caves and alongside the beach.

2. Explore Cape York and the Torres Strait

Visit the very tip of Australia on the new Cape York & Torres Strait Explorer trip. Discover the land’s natural beauty and meet Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You’ll make your way through Kutini-Payamu (Iron Range) National Park and camp in the bush beneath starry skies at Chilli Beach. Then sail to Thursday Island, between mainland Australia and Papua New Guinea, where you can meet a guide on Bayo Beach to learn more about their culture and munch on a crayfish toastie.

3. Set sail in southern Turkey

Drift in the Turkish Riviera on two new trips: Sail Turkey: Fethiye to Bodrum and Sail Turkey: Bodrum to Fethiye. Onboard a traditional Turkish gulet (wooden Turkish motorboat), you’ll explore the southern coast of Turkey while swimming, hiking, sunbathing and stopping in some of the country’s most famous resort towns. Relax on the secluded beachfront of Kadirga Beach and hop on a piyade (small riverboat) to get to Turtle Beach, a dreamy spot to swim and keep your eyes peeled for endangered loggerhead turtles.

4. Step foot on sandy shores in Senegal and The Gambia

If you’ve ever been curious about visiting West Africa, the new Explore Senegal & The Gambia Adventure is your ticket. Both countries have so much to offer, from biodiverse wetlands and sprawling beaches to rich music culture. In Cap Skirring, you’ll spend a few days relaxing on white, sandy beaches like Boucotte Beach, which is said to be one of the prettiest in West Africa. Stroll through beachside villages and browse local handicrafts, maybe picking up a few souvenirs. Kayak, cycle and try some freshly grilled seafood for dinner.

5. Go ice swimming in Greenland

Greenland may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of a beach holiday, but its sandy coastline may end up being one of your favourite elements on the new Greenland Expedition. Discover the country on foot by hiking through glaciers and seemingly untouched natural landscapes. On Disko Island, you’ll pass by basalt rock formations, hot springs and black sand beaches. If you’re up for it, change into your bathing suit and try the ice swimming and sauna experience at Siorasuit Black Sand Beach.

6. Meet Saudi Arabia’s inspiring women

On the recently launched Saudi Arabia: Women’s Expedition, you’ll meet local women leaving their mark on agriculture, entrepreneurship and the travel industry. In Jeddah, you’ll have a chance to hang out with Saudi Arabia’s first-ever female guide before setting off on a private boat tour of the Red Sea. This region is known for its underwater sea life and warm waters that never drop below 21˚C (70˚F). Snorkel and soak up the sunshine before heading to a private women-only beach. Grab a mocktail, listen to some live music and relax while you enjoy the sunset.

7. See the hidden beaches of Scandinavia

On the new Essential Scandinavia 18 to 35s trip through Denmark, Sweden and Finland, you’ll explore cosmopolitan cities like Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki. But you’ll also visit lesser-known spots, like Donso Island, a popular getaway in Gothenburg’s archipelago full of Scandinavian charm. Wander through scenic woodlands, and if you’re feeling adventurous, take a refreshing dip in the Baltic Sea while enjoying the island’s many hidden beaches.

In the village of Ouidah, visit Plage d’Ouidah, the main beach where you can relax on the golden sands. There’s also Plage des Pecheurs (Fisherman’s Beach), where you can take a stroll and see local fishermen at work. Before leaving Ouidah, you’ll meet the folks from the Zinsou Foundation, which supports local artists.
