Wellness and wanderlust: 11 new adventures good for body and soul

Travel – it sure is a cup-filler. And in 2025, Intrepid is offering even more feel-good ways to see the world.   

Opt for some mindful movement on challenging or relaxed hikes, find balance on a stand-up paddleboarding adventure, or tap into your spiritual side with visits to high-altitude monasteries. 

Wellness looks different for everyone, but these new trips and experiences are a surefire way to feel your best in 2025. 

1. Weave between mighty peaks in the Dades Valley  

The Morocco Highlights trip is looking better than ever in 2025 with a new trekking experience added to the mix. Spend the day exploring backcountry terrain in the Dades Valley on foot – it’s up to you how far you want to go, and there’s a handful of circuits your local leader can recommend. Fuel your pursuits with a homemade lunch with an Amazigh family, hear stories about family life in the Dades Valley and reflect on the day spent weaving and winding past rivers, palm groves, farms and deserted kasbahs. 

2. Let your mind wander in Colombia’s Sierra Nevada mountains   

Digital detox? Go for it, with four days of trekking to the Lost City of Teyuna as part of the Lost City Trekking in Colombia adventure. This new trip starts in Cartagena and takes you through misty jungles to reach one of Colombia’s most important archaeological sites.

3. Feel the power of nature in Greenland 

In summer, Greenland is showcased in a new light. Wildlife emerges from hibernation, whales move through iceberg-filled waters, mountains burst with greenery and the icebergs look even brighter against blue skies. For a refreshing take on wellness, Intrepid’s new Greenland Expedition is the way to embrace nature’s perks in 2025. 

Explore seldom visited spots, mostly on foot, with a two-day hiking adventure on Disko Island and a remote eco-lodge stay away from it all. The trails are on the more challenging side but there’ll be plenty of breaks to commit the volcanic landscape to memory. The midnight sun will be at its best, too, which means more hours for more fun. 

4. Hike, kayak and camp in Alaska’s wide-open spaces  

Did you know Alaska is home to about 60% of all national parks in the United States? Nature does wonders for mindfulness and deep thinking, and the new Hiking the Great Land of Alaska trip is a great way to switch off and connect with nature.   

Kayak in Kachemak Bay State Park and take in the coastal scenery around Yukon Island where you might even spot eagles, sea lions and whales. On the Harding Icefield Trail, you can hike your way across the valley floor through forests of alder and cottonwood trees where black bears are often spotted.   

5. Sweat your way to wellness, Scandi-style  

Set your sights on this brand-new Scandinavian trip for the 18 to 35s crowd. Sauna culture has long been part of the Finnish way of life and is thought to be one of the keys to happiness. You can sweat and swim like the locals on the Essential Scandinavia trip. 6. Scale high-altitude trails across India’s Himalayas   

Mountain lovers, this one’s for you. Let the mighty Himalayas move you on the new India: Trekking in Ladakh trip. Hop on the Markha Valley trek from Leh and hike rocky trails where jagged peaks pierce the blue skies at high altitudes. 

Camping under the stars in remote villages and sites such as Nimaling (4800 metres / 15,700 feet above sea level), with no light pollution, is all part of the adventure. On your journey, you can also deepen your spiritual connection with visits to Tibetan Buddhist monasteries for a touch of wellness in a different way. 

7. Find balance with a First Nations guide in Australia  

Big news – a new trip for 18 to 35s is landing on Aussie shores in 2025. On the new Real Australia trip, enjoy a stand-up paddle boarding experience with a member of the Gumbaynggirr community near Coffs Harbour and learn about Aboriginal culture. 

This SUP social enterprise supports the local Aboriginal community by ensuring intergenerational cultural knowledge is passed on and providing employment opportunities. Some proceeds go to the Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation, which offers after-school learning centres, cultural camps and revitalisation initiatives for the Gumbaynggirr language.   

8. Move how you want to move in Peru  

There’s plenty to keep you up and about on the new Peru: Hike, Bike, Raft & SUP trip. Take on the Inca Trail and spend a full day mountain biking from Cusco to Pisac. For water babies, stand-up paddleboarding at 3720 metres (12,200 feet) above sea level at Piuray Lake and whitewater rafting on the Urubamba River in Ollantaytambo in the heart of the Andes will be experiences to remember. 

If you feel energised by movement and high-octane excitement, this heart-pumping trip is the way to go. 

9. Go glacier hiking in Alaska   

The Alaska Hike, Bike & Kayak trip has long been a favourite of nature lovers. In 2025, there’s even more to love with a new hiking experience on Matanuska Glacier – the largest in the United States. Located between Glennallen and Anchorage, it’s a mammoth 43 kilometres (27 miles) long and 6 kilometres (4 miles) wide. Throw on your ice cleats and helmet to explore the glacier on foot with the help of an expert. Every day is different at Matanuska as the glacier is always shifting, moving and changing shape as the weather changes.  

10. Sail away, sail away in Turkey   

Feel instantly more relaxed just dreaming about an adventure at sea on the new Sail Turkey: Fethiye to Bodrum trip (or its reverse itinerary: Sail Turkey: Bodrum to Fethiye). Indulge in some downtime with the Turkish Riviera as your backdrop. Take a dip at Cleopatra’s Bath (also known as the Sunken Bath), where Cleopatra is said to have spent time with Marc Antony. Then, visit mud baths near Ekincik, where the warm, sulfur-rich water will work wonders on your skin.   

11. See a different side to Southern Morocco  

In 2025, you can hike through the Ameln Valley on a new experience added to the South Morocco Discovery trip. Cross the rocky trails at your own pace, wandering past small Amazigh villages and stopping to try the local Amlou (almond, argan and honey spread) with tea. The hike will take you through palm and almond trees and fields of alfalfa crops used by locals to feed their animals. There’s also time for a picnic lunch set against the views of the valley to make sure you get a chance to slow down and chill out.
