Jordan was the highlight of the entire trip. Beautiful country. Very safe, clean and friendly. Local vendors in Jordan left you if you said no or walked away. Egypt was very dirty at every location we visited, police everywhere which had the opposite effect and did not make me feel safe. Local vendors in Egypt harassed you. At times this was very scary since there were always large groups trying to sell you stuff all at the same time. They would not take no and continue to follow you. At times they would step in front of you or put things on you which is very scary when a stranger is that close to you. As a female traveler I felt unwanted there. They want me to spend my money in their country but I felt like I should not be seen or heard.

Intrepid offers interesting itineraries and great local guides, but their focus is on sales over customer service. When you need assistance they tell you to fend for yourself or take forever to respond. If you do travel with them, don't bother asking them to pick you up from the airport.
