Los Angeles means two things: sun and stars…
Because it was in the bright boulevards of LA where filmmakers decided to set up what would become Hollywood, creating a city built on the wonders of sound and screen. Today, a journey to Los Angeles is a choose-your-own-adventure. Jump between pop culture icons like Sunset Boulevard and Rodeo Drive, enjoy the coast at Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach, take in the valley as you hike the hills or sample the flavors of LA at Grand Central Market. Where better to start or end your West Coast adventure than in the City of Stars?

Unleash your inner child at a theme park
Was meeting Mickey Mouse your childhood dream? Does the idea of exploring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter make you want to whip out your wand and yell “expelliarmus” at the next person you walk past? If you answered yes, you must visit a theme park in LA. From Disneyland to Universal Studios and Knott’s Berry Farm, there's a theme park for everyone. So, buckle up and take the ride of your life (or at least your holiday).
Window shop in Rodeo Drive
You can't visit Los Angeles and not go to Rodeo Drive. This pristine, palm-lined street is world-renowned for its boutique restaurants and high-end shops such as Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent. Situated in the ritzy suburb of Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive is two miles long and has been featured in numerous movies, including the 1995 cult classic, ‘Clueless’ and ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ starring Eddie Murphy.
Count the stars at the Hollywood Walk of Fame
What's known as the most famous pavement in the world, the Hollywood Walk of Fame features over 2600 terrazzo and brass stars engraved with the name of a famous actor, musician, director or other notable figure. This iconic attraction spans 15 blocks along Hollywood Boulevard and was created in 1960, with Joanne Woodward being the first person to receive the coveted recognition. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an LA institution and a must for anyone wanting to soak up the magic of Tinseltown.
Hike to the Hollywood sign
Exercising in LA doesn’t have to be a pilates class or sweating it out at SoulCycle. Why not embark on a hike that’ll take you right behind the famous Hollywood sign? This easy-to-moderate hike takes about 2.5 hours return and promises to be an unforgettable experience. Get ready for birds-eye views over some of LA’s most iconic attractions.
Look over LA at the Griffith Park Observatory
It turns out that the Hollywood Walk of Fame or catching a ride on a ‘spot the celeb’ bus tour isn't the only way to see stars in LA. Nestled in the heart of the Hollywood hills, the Griffith Park Observatory offers numerous space-themed exhibits, including the Samuel Oschin Planetarium, where you can travel to the furthest corners of the universe without moving a muscle. This free attraction also gives you a great view of downtown LA and the Hollywood sign, making it a must-stop on your trip to LA.
Visit the Santa Monica Pier
Initially built in 1909 for kids (and those who are still kids at heart), the Santa Monica Pier has become one of LA’s most beloved attractions with food stalls, arcade games, concession stands and amusement rides. The pier juts into the idyllic waters of the Pacific Ocean and remains an exclamation point in this beautiful seaside community. Take a turn on the iconic Ferris Wheel, watch vibrant street performers or chow down on a good ol’ American hot dog at sunset.
