The best photographic moment I have ever had was in Laos. I remember seeing a father holding his baby through the doorway of his hut, both wrapped in white and lit only by candlelight. I didn’t have a camera but my mind snapped it up for all eternity. Laos is the romantic centre of Asia. Landlocked and mountainous, it is often neglected in Asian travels, but this really adds to the uniqueness of the experience. Go trekking through the Boloven Plateau coffee plantations, relax on a boat through the Mekong's 4,000 Islands or swim in Luang Prabang's multitude of waterfalls. Catch a smile from the hilltribe people and observe a the unique way of life. Experience Laos and you will agree it is truly the hidden gem of Asia.
