Australia tours in September 2024

There’s a rich history in Australia to uncover (and we're not just talking about the gold, pearl and opal hotspots)

Across the country, temperatures start their yearly rise, and while the top end is always pretty balmy, September sees a comfortable average of 18-24 across most of the major Australian cities. With an adventure awaiting you in any direction, you’ll have to decide if you spend this month picnicking by the cliffs in Western Australia, jumping in natural pools in the Northern Territory, taking in ancient rock art in Tasmania or swimming with the fishes (aka snorkelling) in the Great Barrier Reef. And, for those interested in the 'rich' history, learn about the oldest family-owned pearl farm in Cygnet Bay, gold in Ballarat and opal mining in Cooper Pedy.

Jess is a fantastic tour leader and I had a wonderful time. The current itinerary is a bit sparse though.

Perth to Broome Safari

Leah · Traveled September 2024
Fantastic experience, so much to see and distance covered, fast paced and challenging at times but an excellent way to see these regions. Jim was a great tour guide, helpful, thoughtful but also encouraging autonomy and team work. Great value and meals, fresh and tasty.

Cultural Immersion in Australia’s Red Centre

Andrew · Traveled September 2024
A rich and extraordinary experience of First Nations Country and Culture generously shared by traditional landowners who are passionate about sharing culture and education. I am very grateful for the invaluable contribution this made to my personal journey in reconciliation and the living, breathing landscapes we walked though and learned about.

Cycle South Australia's Wine Regions

Paul · Traveled September 2023
Small group tours are all about people – both the Intrepid team and the international guests including me as a solo traveller from the UK. Tour leader David was thoughtful, organised and inclusive – ensuring everyone had a great time – ably supported by driver Peter (who really should become a stand-up comedian!)
