As long as you're visiting the Cook Islands solely for tourism or recreation purposes, most travellers will be issued a visitor's permit upon arrival at an airport or border crossing, provided you meet specific entry requirements.

Cook Islands entry requirements

To enter the Cook Islands, you may need:

  • Proof of onward or return flights
  • A passport valid for at least six months after exit from the Cook Islands
  • Proof that you're travelling for tourism purposes (e.g., a copy of your travel plans or a tour confirmation email, hotel reservations, etc.)
  • Proof of sufficient funds to support yourself for the duration of your holiday
