Do the classic walks of Scotland
There are a few ways to uncover the charm of Scotland – like listening to locals playing the fiddle in a pub in Glasgow, sipping on whisky at a local distillery or setting off on some of the country's most iconic walks. Whether your feet are itching to hike the Devil’s Staircase as part of the West Highland Way or you’ve already got your camera out at the thought of the views from Ben Nevis, walking showcases the best of Scotland's scenery.
Go hiking in the scenic Lake District
Few places have the natural trifecta of breathtaking countryside, fascinating wildlife and cultural heritage, but the Lake District is one of them. Whether you’re itching to get out onto a scenic trail, wander close to serene waterways or challenge yourself to hike England’s tallest peak, there’s plenty to keep the adventurer in you occupied. And when you get thirsty, a pint will be waiting for you at the end of the day. What more could you want?
Take in the history of Hadrian’s Wall
You’ve probably heard of Hadrian’s Wall. You know, the 134-kilometre-long defensive fortification built in AD122. But have you ever thought of walking along it? This seven-day exploration combines the best of pre-British history with the natural beauty of the English countryside. Discover the ancient ruins (and the stories that go with them) alongside a knowledgeable leader and fellow history buffs.
Walk the beautiful Cornish Coastline
There’s no better place to bask in the freshness of the great English outdoors than in Cornwall – the land of golden sandy beaches and meat-filled pasties. Set at a slower pace so you can really take your time to enjoy the windswept cliffs, charming harbour towns and lush wilderness of the Lappa Valley, this ‘unpack-once’ adventure will have you crushing on the Cornish Coast.

Travelling with Intrepid is enjoyable and educational. I have done Intrepid trips to Morocco, Italy and now the UK. What I like most is the comradery that emerges as the trips progress. It becomes a shared experience. My guides have all been enthusiastic, energetic, helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoy the outdoors aspect of Intrepid trips too. I will definitely be back for more!

We had a great time on this trip. Went with my daughter and even when the rain conspired against us our guide Kerry kept things together and positive. It exceeded our expectations. The modified itinerary with slightly less walking along the road sections and more time at Vindolanda and the Roman town outside Corbridge or the choice to stay and explore Hexham instead of Corbridge were spot on. Gave some flexibility to everyone and a good mix of activities. One for the books!

Couldn't have asked for a better guide than Kerry for this tour. Really helped that the wall and the surrounding towns were essentially her "backyard" so she was able to add in local colo(u)r both in relation to the Roman history as well as English, Scottish, and specific town backgrounds spanning about 2000 years.

Great trip including all the major hiking routes and climbs around Fort William. Lara is an amazing guide and the hike up Ben Nevis was incredible as was the parts of the West Highland Way we achieved in 2 days.
