Belgium is part of a border control-free region in Europe known as the Schengen Area, which permits citizens of participating countries to travel freely. Although nationals from many non-EU countries are visa-exempt from the Schengen Area, they still need to apply for an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) in advance. Nationals from countries that are not visa-exempt must apply for a Schengen visa.
Always check the Belgian government website or your government's foreign travel advisories for the latest information.
