School holiday trips

‘What are we doing today?’

You just know the kids will ask this question every day of the school holidays. Now imagine their faces when you tell them you’ll be combing the Galapagos for giant tortoises, learning how to make homemade gelato in Italy or playing soccer with Nubian villagers in Egypt. With all the planning taken care of, activities and accommodation to keep everyone entertained and a small group of like-minded families to share the journey with, you can focus on making memories. The school holidays go way too fast, and family time is precious, so why not pack in as much adventure as possible?

Bring Egyptian history to life

Kids love learning about ancient Egypt at school, so why not bring the tales of Cleopatra, Khufu and Tutankhamun to life? Journey to the iconic Pyramids which have stood tall for 4500 years, feel tiny as you stand beneath the Great Sphinx and wander the Mummies Hall for a close encounter with some of Egypt’s most important queens and pharaohs.

Learn Kandyan dance in Sri Lanka

Few things bond a group of strangers more than dance. Be welcomed into a Sri Lankan family’s home for an interactive class where you’ll learn the Kandyan dance, a traditional art from the Central Hills. Bust a few moves with your hosts before putting it all together for a mini-performance. All that dancing is hungry work, so you’ll appreciate the home-cooked feast with your new Sri Lankan friends afterward.

Make magical memories in Lapland

Take the kids to Finnish Lapland and experience a true winter wonderland in the official home of Santa Claus. Zip across the icy landscape on the back of a husky sled, visit Rudolph and Prancer at a reindeer farm and, if you’re lucky, see the magical northern lights. Don’t forget to bring your Santa list, as there’ll be a chance to meet the man himself (and his elves) at Santa’s Office!

Why choose us

Family-only trips

These trips are for families only – including any grandparents, aunts or uncles who’d like to join, of course. As long as you’re travelling with a child aged between 5 (or 10 for some itineraries) and 17, you’re a family in our eyes. Plus, all travellers aged 17 and younger receive a 10% discount.

Like-minded travellers

Travelling with us is a bit like travelling with old friends. You’ll join a group of 3 to 5 families from all over the world, and the kids tend to hit it off straight away so you can enjoy some well-earned R&R. We often find that families stay in touch long after the trip ends.

Small groups

Our groups are small enough to avoid the crowds and reach out-of-the-way places, but big enough for a good social mix. Our average group size of 10 allows us to hop aboard local boats, buses or trains, eat at family-run restaurants, and stay in traditional guesthouses and homestays.

Kid-friendly itineraries

Boredom? Nope. The biggest challenge of travelling with kids is keeping them entertained, which is why our trips have plenty of fun activities and free time. We try to keep travelling time to a minimum and use hotels with pools. Your leader can also suggest activities based on your kid’s hobbies or curriculum.

Safety first

Our leaders are specially trained to run family adventures, so you and the kids will be well taken care of. You can also rest easy knowing we conduct safety assessments on all our activities to meet local standards as well as our own comprehensive safety policy.

Travel that gives back

As the world’s largest travel B Corp, we use travel as a force for good. We give back to the communities we visit, carbon offset our trips and take our social and environmental responsibilities seriously. When you travel with us, you travel with purpose.

Morocco Family Holiday

Shane · Traveled August 2024
The Morocco family holiday trip was amazing. We came knowing very little about the county and culture and we leave knowing a lot about the history, language, people and culture. I would recommend this trip to anyone considering a family adventure excursion holiday. We have a 9 and 6 year old and both loved every minute of it. 10 out of 10

Morocco Family Holiday

Sarah · Traveled August 2024
This trip was fantastic for our family with two children under 10. It was well organised and managed, and everything went very smoothly and according to the itinerary. There was just the right mix of activities and rest time so that the children coped well when we had some distance to travel. We had so many different and memorable experiences in beautiful scenery and with lovely local people. Our leader Oulaid was kind, organised, professional, knowledgeable, and approachable for kids and adults alike. Thank you!

Japan Highlights Family Holiday

Christopher · Traveled August 2024
The Japan Family Highlights tour was absolutely fantastic! In just a week, we visited the major cities of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, and were lucky enough to do a homestay at a green tea farm in Kawane! The tour was full of fun activities for the kids including taiko-drumming, sushi making and singing karaoke. Our guide, Mariko-san, was excellent and made sure everyone had a great time! In short, I highly recommend this tour and especially Mariko-san to any families with kids!
