Perast historically had free trade with the powerful Republic of Venice, which helped the city prosper and protected them against the many pirates who ruthlessly terrorised the Adriatic in the 17th and 18th centuries. Nowadays, the spoils of this prosperous period live on in the stunning architecture and history.

Budva is known in the Balkans for its nightlife – pulsing nightclubs and beach bars rule here. But don’t worry, if a night on the town isn’t for you, there are plenty of quieter beaches like Mogren or Jaz where you can relax for the day and enjoy a more peaceful sunset in the evening. If you feel like stretching your legs, explore the ancient walled city and various picturesque monasteries it holds.

Sail into the stunning Bay of Kotor

The Bay of Kotor and its namesake the town of Kotor, have been inhabited since antiquity, dating back to the Roman Republic – you can still see the famed St Mark’s Lion, a symbol of the Venetian Republic there today. The bay itself is 28 kilometres long and just over 10 kilometres wide, and is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps, which makes for some spectacular scenery from aboard the deck.
