Dubrovnik’s iconic city walls have protected the city since the Middle Ages. These days, they are the best way to see the city, offering sweeping views of its monasteries, terracotta roofs, old port and the Adriatic Sea. Wander the World Heritage-listed walls and Old Town – past forts, bastions and towers; if the sights look familiar, it’s because several films and television shows have been filmed here, including Game of Thrones.

The coast may be its main drawcard, but Croatia is also home to some pretty spectacular national parks. Located on the Krka River about an hour from the coast, Krka National Park is known for its cascading waterfalls, winding hiking trails and lush forest. For a less strenuous option, tour the park by boat, stopping by secluded emerald pools.

Partygoers descend on Hvar during the summer months to revel in its party atmosphere, but it’s still possible to venture off the beaten track in this well-travelled hotspot. Fertile soil and year-round sun (locals claim it as the ‘sunniest spot in Europe’) have created an agricultural paradise. Head inland to visit fruit orchards and olive groves, sample wine at local vineyards and stroll across picturesque farmlands.

Can't recommend Petar and Pavle enough: fun loving brothers who took such care of us during our Croatia trip from Dubrovnik to Split. Approached each hosting job with jovial glee and loved their message of "Be curious, be respectful, and be kind". We were so blessed in their care.

Petar & Pavle were truly amazing at their job, professional, caring and kind. They provided wonderful presentations, excellent speakers, very knowledgeable about history, culture and sustainability. They were also a lot of fun, playful humor, and a joy to be around. The rest of the staff was also kind and lovely. We truly appreciated how they made sure everyone was cared for, with their individual and collective needs.

We thoroughly enjoyed this very relaxing trip down the Dalmatian coast. It was a perfect blend of sea swimming, sun, good food and company,with some gentle but interesting excursions. The coastline is beautiful and the places we stopped were charming and not too busy. The whole experience felt quite exclusive. The crew were amazing and all the ships manoeuvres appeared seamless.

Our cruise in Croatia exceeded our expectations. We loved the exposure to the culture while also enjoying the rest swim spots on the way. We had cultural experiences we never could have had on our own. What a tremendous week!
