Australia overland tours

Everything is bigger in Australia. Oversized fruit sculptures greet visitors in tropical whistle-stops. The longest (the only?) dingo fence in the world stretches 5,614 kilometres across three states. In Australia, even the sky feels wider. But if you want to truly experience the epic vastness of the Great Aussie Outback, there’s just one way to do it: locate an all-terrain vehicle, find a local who knows what they’re doing, and drive. In other words, an Overland tour.

Hit the road with us and explore national parks and deserted beaches, mingle with residents in subterranean mining outposts and pubs, learn the stories of the land from its First People, and bunk down in bush swags on starry cattle stations like a real life drover. We may start and end in capital cities, but on an Aussie Overland tour, it’s all about what happens in between.

Perth to Broome Safari

F rom the moment my tour guide Michael pick me up I felt safe and comfortable. His knowledge of this area of Australia was phenomenal, and his demonstrations of how the land formed were very engaging. Our group consisted of ages 25 to 84, with vegans, gluten and nut allergies, but Michael catered to everyone’s needs. His culinary skills amazed, along with his organisation we were all able to enjoyed our trip. My highlight was Karijini National Park. We had an amazing day swimming in the reef with Manta Rays, an optional extra, and of course a day swimming with the Whale Sharks, a must that needs booking in advance. Thank you Michael and Intrepid for giving me an awesome experience that I will remember for ever.

Kimberley Trail

This trip is a gem. It takes one to see the most extraordinary and spectacular scenery of Northern Australia, coupled with experiences of the local culture and Aboriginal art works. Long distances are covered, but the itinerary is very well designed so that there are frequent stops to see interesting places on the way to each day's final destination.

An amazingly well-run trip through Kimberley Wild. If you enjoy early mornings, beating the heat and seeing the beautiful waterfalls and gorges this part of Australia has to offer then this is the trip for you. Great food and extremely knowledgeable guides.
