New Zealand tours in August 2025

Ski season isn’t the only reason to visit New Zealand this August

While this wintery month may be a great time for hitting the slopes, we think it’s more than worth it to bundle up and venture out into landscapes so striking they were the chosen settings for one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. And in August, you can see these already stunning views sprinkled in snow or twinkling in frost. Talk about a winter wonderland! Explore waterfalls, geothermal geysers, lakes, glaciers, forests and even glow worm caves. On your travels, be sure to also take advantage of the many natural hot springs dotted throughout the country – because, after all, you are on holiday.

The South Island is pure magic! Seeing it with Intrepid takes out the guess work so you can focus on staring out the window and making memories!

This trip was the best way to experience what NZ has on offer for snow sports for beginners and the way up to advanced enthusiasts. Our guide was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

Wonderful trip with a great group of people. I felt like I saw a lot of what New Zealand has to offer including sceneries and culture. Oli the tour guide was amazing and was very caring and reassuring. The trip was busy but I enjoyed that element.
