Intrepid 18 to 35s: Mia in Egypt

Why choose us

The ultimate adventures

You can’t travel to Jordan without visiting Petra but sharing a meal with local Bedouin in Wadi Rum is just as memorable. That’s why we’ve included the big-ticket items, as well as plenty of free time and off-the-grid experiences.

Local leaders, local connections

Travelling with an experienced leader means you can just enjoy the moment, rather than worrying about when the last train leaves. They’ll also share stories and take you to places that only the locals know about.

Small (but not too small) groups

Our groups are made up of 10 travellers on average. That’s big enough to create a good vibe, but small enough to explore a destination independently. And if you’re travelling solo, it’s the perfect number of new friends.

A sustainable way to travel

We believe that travelling sustainably is important. Through our not-for-profit The Intrepid Foundation, we are committed to supporting projects around the world – from reducing carbon in the environment to supporting the livelihoods of local communities.

Stay real in cool places

We think where you lay your head at night can be just as cool as what you see during the day. Whether that be sleeping on a sailing boat off the coast of Turkey or rocking to sleep on an overnight train from Berlin to Krakow.

Make your money go further

Want big-time experiences without the big-time price tag? Our 18 to 35s travel style means staying in simple, well-located accommodation, taking local transport and enjoying tasty local food, so you choose where your spending money goes.

I would highly recommend this trip if you are seeking an introduction to Turkey. It includes a really diverse range of activities, from historical sights to ocean swims. Alkis was an excellent leader!

Such a wonderful way to see Turkey. It was a nice mix of history, culture beaches. Sailing day was definitely a highlight. Our trip manager Al was so helpful and always organised dinners and activities for our group.

Six Days in Turkey

If you are lucky enough to have Baris as a tour guide then you will have an incredible time. I did the 15-day Real Turkey Tour (18-35s) and met an incredible group of women who will be my friends for life. Don’t hesitate if you are a solo traveller. While I’ve travelled extensively, I don’t think I would have been able to navigate the bus system. A highlight for me was Ayvalik, which is not at all touristy, and also the boat in Kekova. An incredible trip with the best guide ever. :) The only thing that I would change is the overnight bus ride. It would be great to have the option to buy a flight.

Essential Turkey

please know before booking this trip the amount of time spent on a bus. I would say it was 80% travel, 20% site seeing. Overall the places we did get to see were beautiful however the travel time definitely didn’t balance out the pros.

Real Turkey

Overall a really great trip, very quick and be prepared for some long travel days, but worth it for the lovely seaside towns, Cappadocia hot air balloons, and big city hustle
