Joanna Reeve promoted to position following extensive recruitment campaign
Intrepid Travel has appointed Joanna Reeve as its new General Manager for the UK & Ireland, effective immediately. She will be responsible for providing leadership in the region, implementing strategic plans, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the company achieves its growth ambitions in the UK and Ireland markets.
Having joined Intrepid more than 12 years ago, coming from a career in TV and media, Reeve has held various roles, including leading the company’s tailor-made and private groups division and heading up trade sales.
In her previous position as Head of Partnerships, she oversaw business development and grew B2B partnerships, while aligning with the company’s dual goals of growth and balancing purpose with profit.
Reeve will report to EMEA Managing Director, Zina Bencheikh with a dotted line into the new Chief Marketing Officer, Hazel McGuire.
Reeve said: “I'm absolutely thrilled to be promoted into this role — it's such an incredible opportunity. From the standout product to our genuine commitment to making travel a force for good for people and the planet, I’m proud to represent the Intrepid brand and our region. I want to thank the travel trade and our agent partners for their unwavering support — they have been critical to what we achieved as a business in the UK and very much a part of our future growth plans.
I'm looking forward to working closely with Zina and Hazel, both of whom have also been instrumental in driving growth in the region. I can’t wait to continue this fantastic work as we move towards our ambitious 2023 strategy."
Bencheikh commented: “Jo has been an instrumental member of the UK team for more than a decade. She brings an outstanding level of industry knowledge, and I know she has some incredibly exciting plans for the region and the trade. I can’t wait to work closely with her and help take the business to the next level in the UK and Ireland.”
