Do you need a visa for Samoa?
There are no visa requirements for Samoa if you're visiting solely for tourism or recreation purposes. However, all travelers aged 12 and over will need to pay a departure tax of ST $40.
Nationals from one of the 26 European countries in the Schengen area can enter Samoa visa-free for up to 90 days, while all other foreign nationals can stay for up to 60 days. You will be issued a free visitor permit by an Immigration officer when you arrive at Faleolo International Airport (APW).
If you intend on staying in Samoa for longer than 90 or 60 days, you can apply for an extended permit before your trip through a registered visa agent or do it yourself at one of the Samoan overseas consular posts or diplomatic missions, including those in New York, Canberra and Auckland. An easier option is to extend your visitor permit in Samoa by completing a simple application form at the Immigration Office in Apia. Just make sure you do it at least a week before your initial permit expires.
Samoa entry requirements
To enter Samoa, you must:
Have a passport valid for a minimum of six months after the date of entry into Samoa and a blank page for your visitor permit stamp
Have a confirmed onward travel ticket
Have a passport, permit or visa for the country you will travel to after Samoa
Have proof of sufficient funds for the intended period of stay
Have a confirmed residential contact address
Comply with Samoa's COVID-19 measures.
