Spain is part of the border-free region in Europe known as the Schengen area, where citizens of participating EU countries are allowed to travel freely between those countries. Most travelers can visit Spain visa-free for up to 90 days, but those from non-Schengen countries may need a Schengen visa.

To enter Spain, you may need: 

  • A passport issued within the past ten years 

  • A passport valid for three months after your date of departure from the EU 

  • Proof of accommodation and sufficient funds 

  • Proof of onward or exit travel
