Overall wonderful trip, great group, fantastic leader in Shimane who was keen to ensure we left having learnt something about the countries we visited. Loved Botswana especially the delta. If you’re considering it then just go, Africa is always an adventure and never disappoints. Read the trip notes carefully so you know what to expect. Accommodation was generally good.

An excellent trip to see 3 beautiful countries. The only down side to this one is that the game drives are not included but an optional extra so bear this in mind with costings. Our guide was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure our trip was amazing.

Be prepared for 5:45AM starts while in South Africa and Zimbabwe and for the Botswana game drive day because this is when most animals are active. I arrived a few days early to rest and do a city tour of Johannesburg and I recommend this so you can get acclimated if you’re coming from a different time zone. I loved everything we did. We saw so many animals. Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe didn’t have good internet connection. The rest of the hotels were completely wonderful. Of course you can’t control who you go on the tour with and I (single female) ended up with just a couple on honeymoon. I would definitely do another tour with Intrepid although I would ask further in advance how many signed up and possibly change my dates to a slightly bigger group. However, I met friendly people on the safaris which were shared and all the hotel staff were friendly and polite. Overall, I’m satisfied with my experience and recommend this tour.
