Bangkok to Phuket highlights
Explore limestone caves by kayak
It’s one thing to snap some photos of incredibly beautiful landscapes but jumping in a kayak and paddling through them is another thing entirely. Explore Thailand’s waterways – from stunning inlets and secluded caves to mangrove forests full of playful monkeys – with a new perspective and let your sense of adventure take hold as you float gently along.
Refuel with traditional and tasty Thai food
Thailand promises some of the world’s best cuisine so it only makes sense to eat as many traditional dishes as you can while you’re there. You may already be familiar with the flavours of pad thai and panang curry, but there are plenty of other dishes to try, including tom yum goong (hot and sour soup), som tam (green papaya salad), and khao pad (fried rice).
Embrace the island life at Thailand’s best beaches
Undoubtedly known as one of the best beach destinations in the world, Thailand will blow you away with its turquoise water, golden sand, and nodding palm trees. Whether you want to lie out under the sun or go for a dip in water so clear it sparkles, the likes of Kata Beach in Phuket and Nang Thong Beach in Khao Lak will have you utterly transfixed.
Cycle your way through Thailand’s epic landscapes
Sometimes the best way to explore a country isn’t on two feet, it’s on two wheels, and Thailand’s many breathtaking landscapes can be quickly and wholly seen, appreciated, and marvelled at from the seat of a bicycle. From cycling among historical ruins to pedalling past rice fields, enjoy a scenic ride with your group at your own leisurely pace.
Learn about elephant rehabilitation in Chiang Mai
Do you know what’s cooler than watching elephants in their natural habitat? Learning about the conservation efforts to protect them. Do just that at ChangChill (an hour and a half from Chiang Mai) where you’ll be treated to ‘live lectures’ on the elephants themselves and get the chance to see how they socialize with their giant, grey friends.
Visit ancient temples and religious monuments
Religion and culture go hand in hand in Thailand and taking the time out to fully explore these places of worship goes a long way in understanding the history of this fascinating country’s people. From the magnificent architecture to the ornate details, these temples or ‘wats’ (in the Thai language) can be found all over and are a must-do when visiting.

Wow what a fun experience, I loved meeting such a range of different people and exploring Southern Thailand. Our group leader Pepae was knowledgeable, organised and professional but also knew how to have a great time! The highlight was the breathtaking Khao Sok National Park.

Fantastic, independent-oriented (not much hand-holding) trip/organization. I enjoyed Intrepid more than EF Ultimate Break. The rainy season had cooler winds & lovely, cool rain some days. Group members are from different countries. Get ear plugs and a sleep mask for the sleeper train and city-square Phuket hotel. Oat rocked.
