Why choose us

A local leader

Local leaders are the metaphorical bread and butter of an Intrepid trip. They're the ones who will take you to the best vantage points, the most memorable places and the greatest culinary experiences which are often hard to find if you don't know the way. While travelling with your small tour group, you can spend time with your local leader and get the inside scoop on where to check out your travel must-sees.

Safety

While every country can present dangers, Peru is generally a safe travel destination if you are informed and alert but this is also where a group tour comes in handy. You'll have the guidance of your local leader and the company of others while exploring the gems of Peru's cities, towns and rural regions. Your leader can also help you haggle with merchants and provide advice on avoiding pickpocketers and scammers that can often be found around major tourist areas. With safety taken care of, you can simply focus on the fun.

Ready made friends

If you're looking for the freedom of solo travel with the option to share experiences with others, then a small group tour is a perfect fit. Want to take a day to yourself to recover from your hike to Machu Picchu or are you looking for the day's next whirlwind adventure? Travelling on one of our tours means you'll likely find shared interests with others even if you're different from completely opposite ends of the world.

Peru: Amazon Jungle Short Break

Decent tour . Good aspects were being immersed in nature , and food was delicious . Wish we had more information on the lodge ahead of time. Expectations certainly need to be managed in terms of wildlife spotting

Sacred Land of the Incas

Seo Woo · Traveled August 2024
This tour was an excellent way to see the different highlights of Peru, and gain so much insight into the history and culture of the Incas. Julio was an excellent guide, as was Rhonald as our co-guide on the trail. Seeing the Amazon was surreal, as was the trail, and seeing Puno and Lake Titicaca was definitely an experience I wouldn't have been able to do on my own. Thank you to the Intrepid group and our guides for the beautiful experience!

Sacred Land of the Incas

Stephen · Traveled August 2024
This was exactly the break I needed. I wanted to do something different, see different places, meet new people, and do something challenging. Perú has the Inca Trail, the Amazon and through Intrepid the opportunity to meet local families and see something of their way of life and Intrepid put together a great itinerary with excellent guides for the entire trip to make sure everything went smoothly. Well done Intrepid, you are a great business and earned my trust.
