Most of our East Coast trips begin in Sydney. If you're not joining a tour, the nearest airport is Ballina Byron Gateway Airport (BNK), about 14 miles from the town center. Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia offer daily flights to Ballina from most major Australian cities.

The best time to visit Byron Bay is from November to February when the weather is warm and sunny, allowing you to make the most of the region's stunning beaches. However, summer is the most popular season to travel, so be prepared for larger crowds and higher prices.

If you want to avoid the crowds, try visiting during the shoulder months of September, October, March and April when the weather is still reasonably warm but there aren't as many people around.

Byron Bay has plenty to offer all year, including wellness activities and surfing, so you can't really go wrong at any time.

Byron Bay has a humid subtropical climate with long, warm and occasionally wet summers and short, mild winters. Its proximity to the tropics means it can be quite humid, lingering at around 70%.

January is the hottest month with average temperatures of 72ºF to 84ºF, while July is the coolest at 54ºF to 68ºF.
